It was around 11:30AM this incident happened... Actually, it was nothing athe first place and I was listening to a phone call... Suddenly my colleague was yelling outside and I saw alot of people gathering at the corner of the road... Run as fast as I am to the front door to see whats going on, I saw a man lying on the road with it's face facing on it... A few people was squatting around him and there's one car stop in front with its door open wide... First I thought that man get knocked down by that car but I was wrong... The owner of the car is helping that man and when I saw that man, he was an elderly man...
Later in, he was carried to the five foot way at my shop and let him lying there... That elderly man was bleeding from his forehead and his eyebrow too... I was nervous and scared that time. And got this man asked me to called ambulance so I quickly call 999... I was somehow so nervous and hope they quickly answer my phone... In my head was only to save that elderly man... Finally the police station answer my phone and I tell the lady what had happened and she put me to the ambulance line... Finally when already get through to ambulance, I quickly explain the condition and tell them where my place then its settled as they on the way to rescue...
So i have few conversation with the elderly man and askehim what happened to him... He can't say it clearly and I heard a bit him saying feeling dizzy... I think he went for jogging as I saw him wearing sports shoe, cap and a bottle of mineral water... So my colleague tell me to asked him of his contact number so that I can call his family to tell them what happened.. After getting through with his daughter and ask her to come quickly than I went to the elderly man to relax while waiting for his daughter and the ambulance to arrived...
Then, I saw a police petrol coming towards us and I tell them everything... So one of the policeman suggest to carried him to sit down as he was still lying on the floor.. So, the police carried him to sit at our bookshop entrance and my boss ask my colleague to carried a chair for him to sit down. While we were carried him up, his daughter had came and console her father.. Then I realized he can't hear clearly because he was wearing the hearing tools on his eats. What we do then was waiting for the arrival of the ambulance... We even get tissues for him to wipe his blood and ask him to drink water to get him relax... Around 20 minutes later, the ambulance came and my colleague and her daughter escort him to the ambulance and before that, he shake hands and thank all of us for helping him... His daughter thank us too.. So the ambulance took him to the hospital and everything was back as usual... The moment when that elderly man shake hands and said thank you, I was so glad and happy to had helped him... This is an unforgettable moment I've done..
I wonder, how is he doing now? Hope he'll get good treatment and get well soon...
That was a good thing you did for the elderly gentleman! But I'm shocked it took the ambulance 20 minutes to arrive! What if he was seriously injured? He would never have survived.
ReplyDeleteHello!! First of all, thanks for your comment and your compliment.. I'm feeling humble.. and yes.. it's the thruth that the ambulance arrived that time.. that's how poor the service is... That's why in the first place, i was angry and frustrated when it hasn't came yet but that elderly man was strong and i'm really surprised.. Anyway.. after weeks, I'm surprised he came back to my workplace and he came for the purpose of saying gratitude to me.. I'm really happy he's okay now...and he's a cheerful elderly man too...
